Hydrocline Beach

Hydrocline Beach, located at Humbug Mountain State Park on the Oregon Coast, was the sports first beach field. It was also the location for the game’s first three player game.

The field was tucked into the base of Humbug Mountain very near where Brush Creek reaches the ocean. The bases were formed from large driftwood logs and home plate was positioned where a huge uprooted stump could act as a home plate backstop.

The outfield was dominated by a tall sandy slope leading up to a grassy bench where, if a player could land a ball on the fly, would grant them a Grand Salami.
