Willamette Flats was located in a flat silty farm field left fallow adjacent to Riverview Park. The flat farm field did not lend the play area much character, and all bases had to be brought in. Willamette Flats was the first field to utilize a turned over table as first base. This allowed for a large first base target, but still remained somewhat portable.
Willamette Flats was the first location for the Oregon Tapey Beercone Invitational.
