Tapey Beercone began as a winter sport. It was first played in January on the frozen tundra of Gordon Field. To celebrate this fact, and to end each season with a jubilant final game, this classic event was formed. It was originally known as the Christmas Classic, and was first played on Christmas Day at the end of Season 2 at Big Apple Field in New York City’s Central Park. The story of this first running of the event is detailed in the 6 for 6 short story: “Miracle near 79th Street”.
The event has been held every season since, and for three years it represented the season finale and was known as the Winter Classic.
Overtime, the event began to be held annual and hosted by prolific BeerPope Chris “The Rooster/The Dragon”. Due to this, the name of the event has changed and it is now known as The Chris-Mass Classic.
