With one week remaining until the Tapey Beercone Open Game here’s what you should bring with you to the event:
- Appetite: We’ll be grilling burgers and hot dogs to eat during the game and there will be plenty of snacks. Feel free to bring a snack to share with the rest of the group.
- Beer: It wouldn’t be Beercone without beer. We’ll have plenty of Coor’s Light on hand. But if you plan to drink readily, or would prefer something else, plan on bringing it with you.
- Camera: As in past years we plan to capture as much of the action and mayhem as we can. We’d love for others to take part. So please take photos during the game, and you can add them to this Google Photos Album so we can all enjoy them.
- Lawn Chair: Since you won’t be at bat or in the field the entire time, you may desire to relax by resting in a sedentary or supine position. Should this desire arise, and should you not wish to lay on the grass, you may aim to utilize a chair, bench, or other sitting device. While multiple such devices will be present at the field, given the expected attendance, you would be advised to increase the odds of finding an available sitting device by bringing your own from home.
- Shades: The weather looks ideal for next Saturday. Partly cloudy with temps in the mid seventies to eighties. So bring your shades, dress appropriately, and maybe throw on some sun block while you are at it.
- 10 Bucks: That’s what you’ll need if you want to go home with one of these sweet Tapey Beercone T-Shirts!
While Supplies Last… - Competitive Spirit: With nearly two dozen players expected, this is shaping up to be an exciting competition. But win or lose the goal is for everybody to have a great time enjoying the Game of Kings
And while we’re at it, here are a few things not to bring:
- Glove: Tapey Beercone’s rules on equipment are very limiting, and chief among these is that no gloves can be used to aid in fielding.
- Cleats: While you may be used to wearing cleats while playing your usual base and ball sport. This is not so in Tapey Beercone. Cleats are banned by rule.
- Attitude: Tapey Beercone, being a gentlemen’s game, has a long and voluminous Tradition of Sportsmanship. And within this Tradition are the allowances for trash talk, boasting, and other general forms of playful denigration. But players should refrain from actions which would constitute Unsportmanlike Conduct such as obnoxious behaviour and general douchedaggery.
Hope to see you all there, and if you plan to attend please register beforehand so we know you are coming.
