The Oregon Tapey Beercone Invitation is just around the corner and it’s time for a round of updates on the event.
First, if you’ve been hiding in your basement all summer and weren’t aware, we are less then two weeks away from the most extraordinary Oregon Tapey Beercone Invitation yet, the Pandemic Edition. Held rain or shine at Volcanoes Stadium on Saturday, November 14th, 2020. Tickets are still available in either the form of the Grand Regents Invitation Package, G.R.I.P., or the Standard Humble Invitational Ticket, S.H.I.T., but sale prices for these tickets end this Friday, November 7th. In the last week leading up to the event these tickets will only be available at full price, so order now!
In addition to the tickets, the sale on the Premium Drinks Expansion Pass will also expire. All attendees will have access to all the cans and drafts of Coors’ they can drink (within reason), but Premium Drink pass holders will also gain access to all the Session Premium Lager they can drink (within reason), as well as choice among a variety of Oregon based Craft beers.
November 13th Edit: Session Lager has been replaced by Boneyard Beer’s RPM IPA as the Premium Drink Pass beer, and an additional keg will be available at the event.
Next, we are happy to announce an expanded line up for the event! In addition to the main event tournament, the day will begin with the 2020 running of the Tapey Beercone Kumite! The Kumite was first held during the 2019 Tapey Beercone Open, but with this year’s Open cancelled, it has been rescheduled to run in tandem with the Invitational. The Kumite is the most extreme gauntlet to test an individual’s Tapey Beercone prowess.
The Kumite will kickoff the day’s events, but that’s just the beginning. Here’s the schedule for the entire event:
- 8:00 AM – TBC Kumite Registration.
- 9:00 AM – TBC Kumite Begins.
- 10:00 AM – Oregon TBC Invitational Main Event Registration.
- 11:00 AM – Oregon TBC Invitational Main Event First Pitch.
- 1:00 PM – Oregon TBC Invitational Lunch Intermission.
- 2:00 PM – Oregon TBC Invitational Main Event Game 2.
- 4:00 PM – Free Play Game. Weather Permitting
For the main event participants will be split up into 4 teams which will play 2 games to determine a champion. The games will run simultaneously on two Tapey Beercone fields created within the confines of Volcanoes Stadium. After that we’ll have one final game for all those who want to hang around, and if need be the game will be played under the stadium lights!
We can’t wait to play ball, and we hope to see you there!
