CCC TBC Rotisserie League Update & Mid Season Beerpope Trade Window

In any fantasy sports draft mistakes are made. The same was certainly true in the Chris Curtis Commemorative Tapey Beercone Rotisserie League. Knowing this, the crafters of the league provided an out. The mid-season Beerpope Trade Window! Between New Years Day and Beer Pope Day Weekend each team would have the opportunity to swap up to one rostered player for a free agent, or two teams could agree to swap players.

With the ending of the decade, the window is here, and with updates from the most recent game the waiver order can be determined by reversing the current standing. Those standings are shown below: Continue reading “CCC TBC Rotisserie League Update & Mid Season Beerpope Trade Window”

Buckos Nation After Action Report: Bees Without Conscience

On August 31st 2019, the Buckos Nation was suddenly and viciously attacked by a terrorist cell of meat bees. Cold, brutal revenge was exacted. This is that story.

A Prelude to Carnage:
Arriving early Friday Afternoon, Hammer and Decibelle, along with Coach, The Pants, and The Shorts established the operations bunker for the weekend’s coming exercise. All was quiet, and the potential field was surveyed from both aerial vantage point and boots on ground reconnaissance. All patrols reported the area clear of dangers. Command strategy sessions were held deep into the night as reinforcements were en route. L337 H4x and Elsinore bolstered defenses until Reverend and Student arrived. At the crack of 0900 hours the next morning, Coach, Hammer, and Reverend began the construction of the forward operating field. Construction went smoothly until 1000 hours when the others assembled at the field.

Introducing the Chris Curtis Commemorative Tapey Beercone Rotisserie League

The process of invention can take many forms. From the inception of an idea, to the tinkering with specifics, to the eventual roll out of a finalized design, this process is often a lengthy one. Other times this process is almost instantaneous where an inspiration leaps from the mind in near final form just waiting to be realized. Such is the case with Tapey Beercone’s first Fantasy Sports League.

It was during last season’s final Ranch weekend when the magic happened. With the Buckos relaxing around the cabin, the topic of conversation was a Buckos’ favorite: sports. Specifically discussion drifted from talk of Tapey Beercone to talk of the various Buckos fantasy baseball teams. Eventually Chris, who is not amused by these topics, had had enough! First Tapey Beercone, a Sport removed from prevailing sports culture, then fantasy baseball leagues, even further esoteric, “What was next?!” Chris exclaimed! Immediately, the other Buckos knew just what to do: Combine the Two!

News: The Oregon Invitation Goes on the Road, Discovers New Beerpope

This season, for a change of pace, the Oregon Tapey Beercone Invitational was moved up to Labor Day Weekend and taken on the road. Instead of being played local venue in the Willamette Valley, the game was held in extreme southern Oregon at Pastoral Nest. But these changes didn’t hinder the competition, as the usual combination of exciting play, plentiful drinking, and off-field hilarity were all readily on display.

Photos from the 2019 Tapey Beercone Open

For the 4th year in a row, the Tapey Beercone Open Game was held at Trailerville Acres and a wonderful day of Tapey Beercone action was had. This year saw three seperate games held over one amazing day of Tapey Beercone, which saw the largest turnout to date, including local players and others who made the trek from as far away as the Oregon Cascade League.

Congratulations to Team Reverend for their complete tournament shut out victory, in which the team was never scored on through the entire tournament and were shutout themselves until #5 Jeff hit a home run in the finals which proved to be the tournament winning run. Hats off to runner up Team Hammer, who dominated the round-robin stage of the event before being shutout in the finals.
